| FreddyFlyer,
Thanks, I'm only here for the wealth of knowledge that seeps out of this cyber forum. If I can make a channel buzz then I do try...
Proxy is to be one of my electives, I just cannot decide if I should do the exam on the 16th instead of 240 or exchange 5.5 what do you think? So many choices I'm quite a flutter, na confused.
Freddy would you be interested in helping me/us advance the information on our site, that is become a Study Guide writer or something? I'm very impressed with most of you posts which contain rather good explanations of what ever your discussing.

| Go for Proxy, it is not as hard or time consuming as 240 or Exchange 5.5.
Sure I might be interested in helping you advance the information on your site. I haven't started my studies for W2K yet, but plan to after the new year. I'll send you an e-mail.
Aim High!

| While semi-on-topic...
I think those of us who have been taking the same path are all arriving at the station at the same time
I've got Proxy and Exchange 5.5 left this month, and am glad to see discussions in both groups. Net Essentials was kind of the same old smae old, but that's to be expected on the most basic of the MCSE exams. The best support group thus far was Enterprise, as the sudden shift in exam questions and formats threw a lot of people into the panic tank. Thankfully, there were plenty there who simply said to stay calm, use the practice exams you have, learn the reasons behind it and don't worry if the questions are different. That was true, as the exam changed, but the necessary knowledge didn't.
Tangent over. Returning to thread.
Does anyone here have a regular chat group going? I'm thinking this could be a nice idea, if we had a chat room that we go to on a regular basis, with scheduled topics for discussion. For instance "Monday Night: Installing Proxy 2.0" ..we come in, have a chat session, someone knowledgable (or a couple of people) go through the topics, what you need to know, and if possible, link to a web page with screen shots for examples.
This could then follow a format where a few questions are asked by the speakers, with MP answers, and people can play along at home. If they get it wrong, we can then talk about why the answer was so.
I know this is probably a pipe dream, and that there are "online courses", but the real-video courses go too slowly, and it is difficult to hear the person sometimes. Plus having a group of people trying to learn TOGETHER, gives us a nice community study group feeling.. sort of like the message board, but a little more real-time.
Probably not something that could work for right now, but for the 2K track, with so many of us looking ahead at it, it could be worth a shot...

| I'd be willing to give it a try. I have to admit I'm a paper MCSE (or at least will be next week, hopefully) with not much knowledge, but I have the resources to try and implement these things in my little basement. And sometimes, a novice could find something obvious that an expert might overlook. I'm in. | |
|
| i'd like to try. let's get it all figured out. you're in charge kenny!
we may find egroups.com useful. kenny, why don't you take a look there and see what we can do. i can help you with making a group or something.

| Well if you'd like to use a private forum I can accomodate it for you on our Forum board in http://www.mcse2000.plus.com if you like.
There is a 5 hour time difference between us but we can cope with that I think.
Let me know what you think?

| Yeti,
Thanks for the offer. Nice site. Very official looking
I think we SHOULD all get together for a WIN2K holy war. If we get groups that are on similar topics, we could feasibly have study buddies and such. It's a better way to learn than dumps, and better than being on your own. More oars help the rowing..or some other odd proverb like that...
I'm down for it. Once the MCSE is done, I'm already looking at Win2k, and finishing my CNE track as well. Maybe even a CCNA for the fun of it!
