Author is Sybex the preffered book for proxy 2?

2000-11-26, 11:37 am

is this the recommended book?

I don't know about anyone else but I'd recommend it.

I used it along with the Trancenders practice tests and scored 897 on the exam.

I started out using Exam Cram and it just wasn't cutting it. The Sybex Proxy Server 2 Study Guide really helped me.

I agree with Spid, I started out using Exam Cram and ended up with the Sybex book. Also used Exam Essentials and Troy Tech. Best thing is to have Proxy set up on a server and practice with it there. It makes more sense if you have hands on practice.

I bogged down in the Sybex and went to the Exam PREP (not Exam Cram). Scored 828.

I took the MOC for Proxy and found that 2 days was too short to really absorb the material to any useful degree. Talk about rapid fire module/lab, module/lab...

After reading the binder through 2 times and playing with the demo version of Proxy, I still needed additional materials to prepare.

Yes, I know the "MOC is not geared towards preparing you specifically for the exam verbage" as the MCT's in all my MOC classes stated, but still the Proxy MOC is too short in my humble opinion.

My two cents.

Excellent point. As a matter of fact, now that I think about it, I had another book given to me by the instructor from the proxy gurus that was really cool and a great addition tothe MOC.
If there is an exam you CANNOT pass if you do not have extensive first hand knowledge of the product, it is Proxy... so play, play, and play some more!
