Exam Essentials 5.5
|

| Has anyone used this for Proxy 2.0?
I want to buy it but I have to ring international to get it.
Is it really worth it or are there other ways.
I have Transcenders for it already.
If anyone has any ideas on this please reply or via email <snipped as I am now done>
If anyone has an old copy of EE 5.1 I would like to hear from you too
thanks

| I used EE 5.5 and was pretty much on target. If you understand the questions you will pass the test. I passed 808. Good study guide. Just understand the questions and why. Good Luck.. | |
|
| Xordis if you can get your hands on Exam Essentials you will pass this test with no problems. I used both EE 5.0 and Transcenders, it's a very good product you will be better prepared for the test with this product. Best of Luck!

| Thanks guys.
Passed today with an 852.
I found the exam easy, as I had seen most of the question in EE 5.5, BUT, there must be a few of wrong answers on it.
I had a total of 6 questions I wasn't sure off, of this 5 I at least 50%.
Generally I work of the idea that I will get half the ones right that I am not 100% sure on. so this suggest a 911+, but as my mark suggests I got 58 right.
Nothing to complain about, its over now. A pass is a pass.
One more to go for MCSE+I (Dont know where this year went, I had a plan of doing I cert a month at the start of the year. oh well) | |
|
| I am currently using EE 5.5 and Transcender for the test. That should pretty well cover me I think. Are there any words of wisdom anyone might have other than Go take the darn
test?? Thanks | |

| All I can suggest for your exam depends on if you've had real world experience. I use it at my job and the exam was fairly easy. If you don't have any experience, make sure you know your services - Web Proxy, WinSock Proxy, and SOCKS - as well as proxy array and chaining. Also, know about caching and the options available, along with user access and how to track performance. Make sure you know about subnetting and routing, authentication methods, and the LAT. Good luck!

| I personally have setup Proxy twice for real world use.
I installed it once during study for the exam.
We support about 40,000+ users on our proxies so MS Proxy isn't really an option for us :-)
Its a good system for a small business though.
For study I did the LearnKey discs.
I tried Transcenders and didn't like them
I dont like the option on the proxy version I had were you had to do 68 questions or else.
And after doing 68 questions I was too bored to read the ones I got wrong.
Just do all the EE5.5 exams one at a time (blocks of about 30 for each section)
Do the whole section, then retake the wrong ones until you get them all right, making sure you read why you were wrong even after answering them right the second time.
I did all the sections twice like that, then I did all 201 at once, and I ended up with about 13 wrong, went to bed at 3:30am the morning before the exam, got up at 7:00am, read why I got those 13 wrong, and retook the wrong ones, got them all right (as would be expected)
The only ones to watch out for in EE are the "how many hops to the real world" ones.
I didnt trust those.
I then turned up the exam center at 9:00, reading cramsession on the way, finished cramsession, about 30 minutes later I passed.
Hope this helps

| Sorry it took so long to get back to you all, I took it on the 9th of NOV and Passed, not by much but a pass is a pass. Now off to TCP/IP, Any Suggestions there?? Study guides, books, etc. | |
|
| For TCP/IP, I used Transcenders and the ExamCram adaptive questions they have on their website. Look for the old adaptive engine, not that fancy new one they have on their site. For that exam, make sure you know DNS and WINS like the back of your hand and how to implement them. Also, very important to know ANDing, how to subnet, DHCP, Hosts/LMHosts, the utilities (tracert, ping, netstat, nbtstat, arp, route), creating scopes, and, of course, troubleshooting. If you know these well and study hard, then the exam will be fairly easy. Good luck!
