Trying to determine the best exam prep for this test between tran and exam ess. has anyone used either successfully.

I haven't tried Transcenders for this exam, but I have Exam Essentials. I don't know how accurate it is (having not taken the exam yet). I do know that people have said the Sybex book questions are very close, and there are a few dumps on www.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX that people have recommended. As with any braindump, I'd recommend studying your book first, going into the brain dump and using a ruler to block the answers as you answer them one by one. After checking your score, any guesses or incorrect answers you should research in your book(s). Once you "know your stuff" you'll be able to pick out incorrect dump answers. Keep in mind that some test software gives different answers to very similar questions, but there might be something in the question that counts for it. Read all questions carefully, something I learned in Enterprise.

Luckily, the passing score for Exchange is low enough (633? I forget at the moment) that you can get by with a solid base knowledge of the concepts.

Is anyone else confused by Microsoft scoring?
For instance, a 68 question exam should give you 14.7 points per exam. Yet people pass with 933,966, 866 etc.. scores that represent a 30 or 60 question exam. Or does Microsoft weigh the worth of their questions, regardless if it is form or adaptive? For instance, 11,22 or 33 points each?

Not that it matters to my strategy, which is shoot for 1000, but it's something I've found curious having taken Workstation, Server and Enterprise and getting 933,899, and 933 respectively even though the exams had differeing amounts of questions (30,30,68).

Ah well, I suppose I have better things to worry about

Hey freak, how about a "How Microsoft scores your exam using geometry and astrology" on your site?

Book. I have the book but I don't like reading it. Like the dummies better, plus having hands on also helps. It has with all the others..looked over the dumps..not good with memerizing this stuff. I need to know it before i take the exam. Always found Sybex with too much fluff..always has even when they were just doing Novell..I think at this point I am 75% ready. Can hold out but want to rest..after doing IIS I think some of the info is carried over..so that helps..

www.certify.com

Kenny,

Yes, MS weighs each question differently, so I assume you can get a 933, on a 30 question exam, and only miss only one (a heavily weighted one) or miss 10 (10 very lightly weighted ones). Don't know what scale their weighted on though.

Good luck on the test, I take 081 in 2 weeks!

Oh wow looks like everyone but me chose exchange!

Kenny - congrats on your latest pass!
Seeker - thanks for your help it has been invaluable!

I have used EE 5.5 and Transcenders for all my tests and found that between them I generally get a good mix of questions to use for a "cram weekend" where I just CBT. To bring forth everything I have already learned by reading.

Iron_horse:
What is this TroyTec thing? I have never seen it? Was it useful for Net Ess? I don't have transcenders for that (my next test), so do you think it would be worthwhile?

Also I did WS in Feb, so I don't remember a thing. My friend Dan is worried he failed once already.

Did anyone hear have a tough time with it?

TIA,
GalaxyGal
