For me it is bigger than the Florida victory for Mr.Bush.
800/100 is not a bad score to turn you in an MCSE I guess.Exam theme was the one you see in Sybex,but you will see the changed wording.I got 2 exibit Qs.
(1)About Middle Column of Exchange Server Optimizer Dialog Box---You are installing ES on a machine who will handle 14,000 mailboxes for imported users.Public folder would be on any other ES in the site.
Which check boxes you will select in the this scenario "Private Store,Public Store,Connector/Directory Import,Multiserver and POP3/IMAP4/NNTP only".
(2)Exibit was "Authentication Tab" of IMAP4 Site Default Properties where some authentication forms were selected.Scenario was about the stuck incoming SMTP communication on your firewalled network and you need to pick up one of the Ports numbers given in the options to enable it.

I have been following you guys progress here on the board..Preparing to take this exam any day now....I was wondering how you did on your exam...I assume that you took it today...I hope that it was a favorable result...
By the way, I was also wondering about that exhibit question also...I have seen most people say that only Private and multiserver needs to be checked and indeed in simillar questions in Transcenders that is what they did...However, I read in MS whitepaper that if the site or foreign connector is used or you are doing a large directory import, you should also select Connector/Directory import...So there is conflicting info..I am inclined to think that Connector should be chosen, but I think the majority seem to think that it is only chosen if the Site connector or large import is being done...Beats me...But seems like everyone is getting that question..It would be nice to know what the heck they want....Any input on this would be appreciated as well as any helpful input on the exam you can supply....Congratulations in advance..I will assume that I am correct....Thanks.. | |

My performance regarding Q # 1 was such that;
A- I selected PRIVATE STORE( Correct) because mailboxes are on my machine.
B- I cleared PUBLIC STORE (Correct) cuz public folders are on the other machine.
C- I selected CONNECTORS/DIRECTORY IMPORT (Correct) cuz this machine was indulged in importing the large# of accounts according to the scenario given to me.
D- I selected MULTISERVER (Correct) cuz my server was not alone in the organization.
E- I selected IMAP4/POP3/NNTP(I guess wrong) this selection configures the server to only these 3 Protocols leaving no room for LDAP and HTTP or IRC.
Varder Dear:
There is no hard and fast rule to select these check boxes.We have too take the Scenario into consideration.As for as Connectores/Directory Import is concerned we must select this if our server is going to import large # of accounts DIRECTLY or is connectected to the importing server through SITE CONNECTOR.Remember the Site Connector not the X.400 or X.25 etc.
My score tells me that I did this wrong.But I am not sure.Pl work on it before stepping into the exam room.

Forgive me for not wishing you congratualtions on the pass and MCSE...I am so engrossed in my studies that I overlooked that!!!!
Well, I suspect that all of your choices except for the protocols selection were correct...As far as the connector/directory import goes, where do you draw the line for a large directory import? I think one of the Transcender exhibits was like this but I think it was only 3000 import...In that one they did not select the connector/directory checkbox...not sure if they are wrong or what....
The more I prepare for this beast the more I find questions that seem to have conflicting answers...Take that and apply it to MS usual vague wording on some questions and it is a recipe for possible disaster!!
Oh well, I will keep pushing onward and upward...Another one I have found that is a bit ambiguous..Is the one about reducing the size of a MTA name from 16 to 8 characters... Can't quite decide if it should be "Set X-400 dispaly name to 8 characters" or the "Set X-400 overide parameters with a MTA of 8 characters" Mot sure where that came from..I thought that you are"putting an 8 character name in the Local MTA field on the overide page"..Kinda is a mind twister there!!!
Anyway, I think if I focus too much on these I might miss more important stuff...But as you know, I am sure, if you learn something correctly it won't be on the exam and if you forget about it, it will be for sure!!!!

I guess you are doing great,very few of us dig so deep like you.Just concentrate on Edge Test and Patri and practice them time and agian.No tension you have cross the line of failure.I guess you are already able to get 800.Let us see how far you go beyond that.
See my starter post "Monday Victory" and work on the Q # 2 as well.
The correct one is this "Set X-400 overide parameters with a MTA of 8 characters" I don't know how but it is.
I also got a nut Q about licensing.It was in the form of a table and was confusing.It was about an ISP who has 500 customer.250 each on severs A & B.Customers connect remotely while 20 employees work in the office and their mailboxes are on the server A.So how many licenses you require.I selected 520.Format of this Q was so upsetting.
Any way,When you are writing???

Thanks for the input on the overide page..I think some of those questions are wrtten by lawyers!!
That is a strange licensing question, but I guess that once you figure it out it is just basic addition....Well, I am scheduled for this Thursday and am really getting jumpy...
I keep finding questions with various interpretations..Some are really hard to decide...Like the ones I mentioned...
I hope that you are right about 800...I am really starting to wonder if I will pass judging by some of the reports of really different questions...
By the edge tests are you referring only to the chapter questions or the 2, 75 question bonus questions as well?
Anyway, I hope that all goes well, so I can have a well deserved rest...But not for too long..Need to keep moving you know....

I mean whatever is on the CD of Sybex 2nd Edition I used.
Remember a 70-067 Question about a utility "diskperf-y" I got a question about it too.It was the tricky one.You are installing a Exch Server for your Satellite station where no tech support is available and you will be concerned about the LOW INFORMATION STORE SPACE alerts in the futre.During configuration what will you do to meet this requirement.
"diskperf-y" was there in the options and I picked it up.Do you remember this enables the disk counters for Performance Monitor which are disabled by default.There was no other resambling option there.

Thanks again for the info and the tip...Well that question about the satellite station is kinda strange..I don't know what the other possible selections could be...But, yes the diskperf -y will turn on the counters but I don't see how that will really help unless it is configured to send you some kind of alert or e-mail etc...I am sure as usual the selections and info given are the usual vague ones!!!
Man. it really sounds like I am in store for a very interesting/nerve racking experience..
I just hope that there are not too many of these vague questions in there...Thanks for the wishes on the exam looks like I may need them...
Someone told me that out of the 35 questions I think that you get, a couple are not counted towards the overall score..I hope that is a correct assumption..Every little bit helps you know!!! Thanks again. If you think of anything else that might be helpful to prepare, I would appreciate it. Sarting to get a little nervous now!!! | |
