| I just got the sybex exchange 5.5 and was wondering if there is a big difference between second and third edition, because I just got sec edit but after reading the forums from cramsession, I don't know if I should return it for the third edit.

| I'd return it for the 3rd edition. I'm not sure if it'll make a diff, but from all post and communication i too hear 3rd edition cried out, and plus you always want the most current information. Good luck

Well, as Courvoisser stated the one most people are using is edition 3, but I have also read a few recent posts from a few people that couldn't easily locate the third edition and used the second and did not have any real problems doing so....Of course, if you can find the 3rd, so much the better...

Man i hear you!!!! It's spinning. I figure it'll be that way for a while. I spoke to a Net Admin who told me that he was the same way, the information was a lot at first, it took him two reads of the book to compile everything. He also indicated not to worry about the infor being scattered,it'll come together with time and effort?????? It helps me to play with the system. Boy i thought email was just typing a messege and hitting the send button : )

I just started reading chapter 5 and am thinking about whether to start over again!!!
I was doing okay up till about chapter 4 and then the details just started piling on and on...Man, reread the book!!! It will take me forever just to get one read let alone two!!
I hope that I didn't make a mistake about this exam...One thing I will say, the design of exchange is kinda elegant...The hierarchical structure of everything is interesting, but hard to follow sometimes...Just when I think I have got something,they introduce a new term!!
Have you gotten very far in the book? I hope that your friend is right about it coming together, because I have this urge to reread each chapter before proceeding to the next, because I keep forgetting stuff...
Anyway, I hope that this stuff will stick eventually because there is sooooo much of it...I guess that you are doing the same, just getting what you can out of the chapter and moving on? I do well on the end of chapter questions right after reading it, but not sure if I could the next day!! Anyway, let me know what you think and do they have Exchange therapy sessions??? | |

| Did you ever take the book back or are you going to keep 2nd edition? just curious since i am going to be in pocession of 2nd edition myself. or should I pass on it.
