First time on the board

| Just passed Proxy on 10/24 (823, a story in itself), and I settled on Exchange for my 2nd elective (and to complete MCSE). Got to looking at your posts out here and decided to jump on. This thread may be done by the time I write Exchange (I'm shooting for Thanksgiving), but I've got to start sometime. Looks like a family out here.
I started all this back in January. Been a long haul. Then I get to do it all next year! Prevents calcifying of the gray matter, I guess.
I was going to use a New Riders book for this exam, but I'm dumping it because 1)I saw some really bad reviews on it AFTER I bought it and 2)I found the Sybex 3rd edition at booksamillion.com. It shipped today. Well, the blue book will look nice on the shelf...("Wow! Have you really READ all those?")
I am also going to try a testing engine from MCSE 2 BE. Never heard of them before, but ya gotta take some chances in this business...

Welcome to the group. We're happy to have you. I'm sure you'll find exchange very interesting. The sybex book is good and the responses and reviews i read made me settle on it. If you have any questions just ask us, once again welcome.

| Welcome aboard Kingsway4us, I'm not sure how much of a family we are if these guys really knew me they would most likely invite me to leave Ha Ha, but we are an excellent support group for each other. Like Courvoisser said in his post, if you have any questions just ask and we will do our best to find the answers. I took this one last May, I found Sybex practice exam to be as good as any I found.
There is so much material to cover for this exam.

| I can remember how great I felt when I completed the Core, but a co-worker (he's MCSE+I) said "They just get harder from here." Gee, thanks. But he was right. Actually, I thought Enterprise was harder than Proxy, but Enterprise was only my second exam, and I was pretty green.
I've worked with Exchange for about a year, but it's really been a cursory experience. I haven't messed around with installation or configuration. Well...it sounds like I'm going from the frying pan into the center of the earth. Can't wait for the Sybex to get here...due in around Wednesday.

Welcome to the "family" dysfunctional as we may be!
Yes, you too can enjoy the fun and confusion of trying to get the Exchange stuff to stick in your head....I have been plodding my way slowly and I hope surely through the book, but I think I may be developing a case of senility, because it is becoming harder and harder to remember all the players in this material....
Anyway, I guess I will just keep pushing on and hope for some divine intervention...I hope that everyone else is keeping themselves similarly amused with this stuff. Except of course for Fubar, who has joined the ranks of the "elite corps".....Hang in there everyone, see ya later.... |
