Author Passed with 837! ... MCSE & MCP+I ... Easy, peasy!

Today I earned MCSE and MCP+I. The exam was not that hard. Straightforward questions, four ODBC questions and nine sims. The sims are slightly different to the real thing, but if you do things the long way, using drop-down menus instead of the buttons, you'll be safe. Most of my sims were stopped, and I used ACTION menu to start them. (I got 100% for Applications - can anyone tell me if this was for sims?)
I used the Dummies book, loaded IIS4.0 Option pack for practice (takes ages to download) and used the IIS Drill from www.examdrill.com
IIS Drill had all the questions well covered and the free sim questions and advice from the same site were the best I've come across. Check out this link for the free stuff. http://www.examdrill.com/MCSEDrills.htm#IIS
I am doing some CompTia exams next, before having a crack at the Accelerated W2K exam. Special thanks are due to Seeker, Suzie, Giovanni, Bob Reedy and Freak for encouragement and resources.
May the force be with you all!!!

Congrats on your MCP+I and MCSE!!!!

Thanks for posting what you used for study
materials. It's always helpful to know what someone else used who scored as high as you did. I hope to follow suit behind you here real soon!

Prometric,

Congratulations! I figured you were pretty close to wrapping it up for MCSE. You've acculmated an impressive list of certs during this past year or so. It doesn't seem like that long ago when you were doing Network+ and were active on that forum.

Also, thanks for all your support for Exam Drill. I glad it was a help to you.

What Comptia cert are you doing next?

Congragulations Prometric. It must be a nice feeling to have finished. How did you find the exam? Were the dumps accurate? Which ones did you use? I've got this one coming up, any advice would help. Thanks in advance.

aaardvark, I found the exam questions relatively easy. Anyone doing the exam needs to get more than 40 questions right to pass (in theory). You will get around 10 sim questions, and they are most important for getting you through if you don't get a high percentage of the other questions right. If you have a good memory and understanding of IIS (use something like Exam Drill) the normal questions will be easy. Also, use the free sim questions from the url in my earlier post to practice the sims. At least half the sims will be easy (change port number, change no. of connections etc.), the others will be more involved. I got into the habit of using paper to write down the steps I could remember for the more complicated sims. This helps, because if you miss something you will get the question wrong. It could be that more marks are given for the sims, I don't know. Anyway, I got 100% for the sims, which were all from the free stuff I mentioned, so my advice is good. I did click around a bit on some sims (i.e. I chose 'Properties' by mistake instead of 'New' from the Action menu)but this didn't seem to effect my score. I think MS are only interested in the end result, but there is probably a limit to the amount of times you can click around. Check out the url I mentioned and you'll be okay. Also, remember to ask at your exam centre if anyone has had provblems with the sims. Some people have complained that the test engines gave them problems, so it is best to check at your centre, so you know what to expect. I hope this advice helps everyone.
Good luck!
