Author IIS 4.0 question

2000-08-17, 12:42 am

Hello Geegs,
Can some one help me solve this problem, pls.
When you have two IIS servers at two locations where each server host multiple virtual servers, can you use one script at one server to configure all the virtual sites at both locations. OR do you have to run the script at both locations seperately?
Most of the dump authors say to run the script at both locations. But, as per the IIS documentation, as far as you can connect with the HTMLA you can do the administration from one location. I am confused.
Can you guys help me.
Thanks.

All the sample tests that I have taken and the braindumps indicate running a VB script at each location.

Thanks for the reply. You confused me further. Because, the IIS Documentation says this. " Using the Windows Scripting Host (WSH), administrators can automate the administration tasks on the server using any scripting language supported by Active Server Pages . For example, an administrator can write a Microsoft Visual Basic script to create a new virtual directory, and then with WSH, run the script file from the command line to create a new virtual directory on the Web site. Administrators can write a single script to target multiple Web sites, or multiple physical servers, to provide effective grouped server administration."
