| That's all folks.... Just came back from the testing center with my sixth piece of paper with that shiny embossed gold star we love. Time to take a week off and reintroduce myself to my wife and daughter, maybe throw the frisbee for the dog this weekend. Thanks to all for advice and help, and thanks to John Hightower @ Westark college for the excellent classes. I'll be moving on to CCNA next before comming back for WIN2K.
Again, thank you everyone

| good work. IIs is my last too. Should take mine by next week. Hard to study sometimes with kids. I have 2 small ones.. | |

| I know what you mean seeker. I wanted to take IIS on Wedensday, but I knew there would be no studying on Tuesday night with me having to take my daughter trick-or-treating. It's hard to explain to a six year old that I'm doing all this studying for her (eventual) benefit. If this IT thing pans out, maybe she can go to college and not have to join the Army and completley ruin her knees before she's 30 like her old man did. Keep the faith seeker, and good luck to you.

| Spend as much time as you need to get familiar with the MMC and know (really KNOW) how IIS works. I always feel best when I read the question and I know what answer I'm looking for before I even read the choices. IIS, with it being as complex as it is, it is especially important to have this kind of understanding.

| You guys are a great inspiration to all of us. Thanks for sharing your story. For all of us who sometimes feel like procrastinating, you are a great source of motivation. Kudos to you!

| Congrats!
I know about that chaotic life too. No kids just yet, but in 6 months I took 6 courses, did 5 exmas (doing #6 on Monday), bought a house for my husband and I to move into (while he worked overseas for 2 months) and moved 2 houses into one, planned a cross country wedding and actually made it thru that without resorting to valium (6 weeks ago)! Can hardly wait for that winter vacation down south as we have snow and sub zero temps!
Now for a dumb question...Can someone explain the benefit of the CCNA cert and how it will enhance the MCSE. I hear a lot of people going onto that one next. 7 months ago I was a market-trading analyst but got laid off and decided to go back to school for something completely different (and more fun!) Therefore I haven't had too much experience working in the IT industry just yet and can't decide where to go from here (CCNA OR W2K???)
Any info would be appreciated - thanks

| In response to Freak:
I'm not trying to be anyone's inspiration, I just happened to be well into a celebratory 12 pack Friday night and got to babbling (which I'm prone to do....haha)
As far as the CCNA goes, I work for a Cisco re-seller and have actually had to config a couple of routers. In my case, being certified bumps up my companies priority to Cisco, getting us more business and me more money. I'm not to worried about WIN2K just yet because I live in a town with an economy that relies heavily on manufacturing. Some of our clients are still using DOS and OS/2! Where to go from NT 4.0? I guess that depends on your area. If you are in a tech heavy area where folks are willing to spend the money to upgrade to 2K, then it would behoove you to be the first in town to know how it works. If, on the other hand, you are like me, and most of your time is spent pulling wire and putting in switches, then I'd go for the CCNA because the ability to config a switch or a router would be a big feather in your cap.
That's my two cents, for what it's worth

| Congratulations Inc!!!! It must feel great to have all of your sacrifices pay off. I too have a story, but I think your story provides enough inspiration for everyone whether you meant it to, or not. Good look with CCNA. IIS is last exam I need before MCSE. I hope to have the same success you had. Again congrats!!
