Directory listing style question
| I am confused by what is supposed to be the right answer to this question. I thought that Unix style was the more universally accepted style by Web browsers, but this answer suggests that you should change from Unix to MS-Dos. Am I missing something?
Question: You set up an FTP site and a virtual directory with the directory listing set to UNIX. Afterwards, not all users can access it. How do you fix the problem?
A) Use Windows Scripting Host
B) Assing NTFS rights for that virtual directory to users
C) Stop and restrart FTP site
D) Set listing style to MS-DOS
Answer: D

| Not sure about this. Are you sure the answer isnt b? Ive never heard of a browser that doesnt like unix. | |
| "D" is correct. you might see that on the test. I did..plus it is on a few of the sample test. | |
| Seeker, I'm curious about why "D" is correct? Do you know? | |
| remember not all browsers are created equal.
The users are using different browsers, by turning on ms-dos directory you have solved your problem for all users no matter which browser they use. hope this helps.. | |
| Im not sure your right about this seeker. The answer may be D but turning on MS-DOS will not solve for all browsers. Unix is more universally accepted over the internet. Mind you this question implies intranet, perhapes theres something in that. Either way its a very stupid question! if I see it I will just answer MS-DOS but I'm not happy about it!!! | |

| Just a quick update. you have to read the question. Although unix style is the most compatable. but the real question will read you changed it and certain browser are having problems.you have 2 choices dos or unix. you are using ftp. by turning on dos you resolve this issue without the clients doing any updates. | |
