Author Passed - 854/1000

2000-08-31, 5:17 am

Finally got this one out of the way. Passed today 31-8-00 with a score of 854.
I found this exam a little harder than the core 4 ( minus enterprise as I have yet to write that exam), mainly due to not getting as much time on a web server at my workplace as I do with the normal systems. Still... I didn't do too bad considering.

OK, there are a LOT of sims. I had about 10 or 11 of them. So get used to administering the MMC. Option pack is free so you need to get it and also if you don't have the resources then an evaluation copy of NT Server is valuable. 120 days is more than enough time to master the MMC.
Also I had about 4 questions on ODBC errors. and quite a few on various scripts.
If you have a look at some of the braindump sites they are very good. But LISTEN TO ME PEOPLE!!! Make sure you verify their answers and also learn why the answer is what it is. In the exam there are a lot of questions worded differently, thereby giving a completely differebt answer. I cannot stress this enough.
Anyway. TCP/IP is next for me and also Enterprise at the same time or there abouts. See you all on the dark side of the force!

Take Care.

Hi Again,

Sorry about the delayed reply.

I got the option pack on a course I was on. It is also available in TechNet. If your company suscribes to TechNet then there shouldn't be any problem borrowing/copying it off them.

I haven't really looked but it should also be available from the MS website somewhere.

Galaxy - No I didn't use the resources you refer to, and in fact I must admit I don't know what they are. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Anyways... Take Care
