The man Dave Kearns (Network World Newsletters - NW on Novell NetWare column, goto http://www.nwwsubscribe.com/news/sc...inteditnews.asp to subscribe) reports BorderManager is slated for an update! This is great news for CNE's and candidates. There was talk about the demise of BorderManager. Kearns says he got the word directly from the BM product manager and not only has us looking foreward to a mid-2003 BM4 release but that development beyond that is already ongoing! It will certainly be a great elective and possibly a Product Specialist certificate. Here's a clip from his column:

take a look at Novell's
Secure Access Suite (http://www.novell.com/products/secureaccess/),
which is based on BorderManager.

Secure Access Suite, an eDirectory enabled product, includes
much more though, such as:

* Novell Account Management - for managing users on non-NetWare
platforms.

* IChain - to identify each user through eDirectory and follows
company policies to deliver individualized resources.

* Novell Modular Authentication Services to allow you to
implement a variety of different authentication methods for the
highest levels of network security.

* SecureLogin - to allow users to access multiple resources
without having to authenticate more than once.

* And, of course, BorderManager.
