This popped up about a year ago via email from Novell.

The CNS is basically a freebie cert - free materials and free online test. Its kinda obscure and hard to find. I believe there are several "sales models" from which to choose and then test on. I am going to do this because theres a lot of structured data to cover all the products and services Novell sells. Good overviews on the technologies. Plus free is free and you get to learn more about the goodies.

Basically for the self study, looks like you download the PDF based on the desired module - doesnt look like you have to pass every module, moreso like theyre all specialized.

I had to take the CNS for work a few years ago. I found it to be geared more toward the sales side of things - I didn't find it very helpful for the technical side of things. It was really a review of terms, what products integrate, minimum system requirements, etc.

But who knows maybe it's changed.
