I have prob with starting Net Ware after installation . Ok let's start from the beginning. I made dos partition 300mb and started the installation , followed the onscreen instractions untill the end without any error messages and then whet it asked me I cliced on restart button . Unfortunetly the system did not start . My Pc did not even get me any message like os not found etc . I flashed my BIOS just to make sure that I do not miss anything but it did not help. Please help me . I never installed Net Ware before but tried almost anything . All my drivers are the newest versions , any ideas guys ? Thanks

| Hopefully you made a dos partition. When it boots, it will look in a directory called nwserver for startup files. Your autoexec.bat file should call server.exe in the c:\nwserver directory. From there your startup files should run, startup.ncf and autoexec.ncf. See if you can boot with a 95 boot disk and then manually run server.exe.
Hope this helps.

| Thanks !
I followed your instruction and it really works , but there is another thing. I did not managed to boot my NW .I manually run nwserver\server and the booting has started but then after a while it stops to say that PVER500.NLM was not loaded or missing Net Ware can not start .I checked in NWSERVER directory if the file is there and it was , so it looks like the OS is unable to load it up and this stops the booting. If you have any idea how can I solve the prob please let me know. Thanks

| Weird one this, maybe you should try reinstalling and see what happens....it took me ages to get my first installation of NetWare going as its very fussy about what it gets installed on, but then its rock solid after that. | |
|
| yeaaa I belive it is a good solid server but the installation is not easiest one. I reinstalled it three or four times and always get the same message . I wonder if anybody knows what the file contains , so maybe this way I could break it . | |

| I've checked throught the Novell knowledgebase and the only reference to this problem is during installation of a service pack, not a clean installation so the solution isn't relevant.
I would try posting in the Novell technical support forums at http://www.novell.com , they're usually really good for tricky problems such as this.
Good Luck! | |

| Thanks I will try there .I'll let you know if I solve it and how ........ |
