| how many people out there still use NetWare in their real world environment? I am not being a prick, I am actually interested in the answer. I haven't seen a NetWare server as a live productive box in quite a while.
I would like to play with NW6, but I cannot justify spending the time when I could be studying Cisco or Linux subjects, which are important for my current employment...

Freak,
I think you'd be surprized how many companies use Novell. The company I work for services about 500 businesses in Michigan. I'd say at least 3/4 of them use Netware not many using 6 yet mostly it's NW4.11 and some are using NW5.
Now don't get me wrong, several of our customers run other systems as well it's been my experience that they love Novell for the network end, but usually prefer to use an Exchange server for e-mail.
And as for Cisco, well who doesn't use some Cisco!!
Anyway, that's just my experience and thoughts I hope it helps!!

| I used to teach in a CTEC and we tried to offer a Novell Class. We were teaching MS classes like they were going out of style, usually at least 5 a week. We created a waiting list for Novell, and after 7 months of advertising the class, we had 3 people signed up. Nobody cared for a Novell class in my state.
As I said, I have not seen a novell server in ages. I actually started as a Novell Admin myself, back in the days of 3.12, and where I recognize the technical value of Novell's OS, I have to say that I would quit my job if they migrated back to NW

| Ouch, I enjoy Novell, I have found that many school districts, and banks use Novell. I started out as a NW admin, and that's why I went on for my CNA, I will be atytending a super lab, where we will be building M$ servers workstations, and integrating them with Cisco routers, this should get me familiar with the Windows server, I will let you know which I prefer...... for now Novell | |

| that sounds like a great lab. Do let us know how it goes! | |

| My employer uses a lot of NetWare at their main location. There are a couple Citrix servers running Windows 2000, and the web servers run Linux, but other then that, their network is very Novell-centric. I don't run any Novell products at the office I work in, but will consider it if we grow much bigger. Zenworks functionality and the ability to more transparently tie into the main office's NDS tree are appealing. | |

| zenworks is pretty cool indeed... |
