| #$#@#@$%%$$#% That exam kicked my A$$, I knew I was weak on the typless, and typefull naming, but figured there wouldn't be that many questions about it wrong, and the mapping also kicked my a$$, you know the things you don't use. (Yep, pissed off) I networked on 4.1 and didn't do much mapping, it was a basic gig. Oh well back in a week | |

| Sorry to hear you didn't do so well.
Was this the CNA exam?
It sure sounds like it. And yes, typeful and distinguished names, etc are VERY VERY important from a test stand point. So is the mapping.
What are you studying with? What books , have you set up a network at home? | |

| In hindsight, I am glad I failed This has given me a chance to perfect the areas, in which I was lacking. The hard part that I have discovered, is that performing these tasks on a home network, does not give you the true fullfilment of network administration. I feel that was my biggest downfall. I worked Novell for 2-3 years, and "because it never crashes" never did much on the way of login scripts (mapping...etc.) basically performed machine backups, and reset passwords, and more hardware install for users. This left me with alot of theory, and minimum hands on. With this new version, I have had to create "make believe" users, and departments, logout, and login, and logout and login to make sure mapping, and properties were truly working. I am ready, of course there may be some areas, where I may get caught on the wording this time, but I feel more confident, with my skill.
Used:
Novell 5.1 CNA book
Novell 5.1 CNE book to go deeper in topic
Brainbuzz 5.1 which goes over key topics
and just hammered my server and workstation.
Good night, until 1615 today with my results! |
