CNE5.1 do I have to take the exams in order?

| I searched the Novell site and couldn't find an answer. I'm currently studying the CNA5.1, I passed the N+ exam so the 632exam is waived. I wanted to go for the 4.11->5.11 update exam or the Service and Support exam next. Can I do this or do I have to take them in seq order?
TIA

| Shall always go to the CNA first, then you can pick any exams you want. No need to be in seq, but the smaller exam num shall be easier.
Good luck | |

| I loved you in that movie.
I am studying for Service and Support now. I've saved it to last. Some reports I've heard are that its really hard - but at this point I can't imagine why.
I was CNA 4.11, and opted to just do the straight CNA 5 exam rather than 4 to 5 upgrade.
For some reason, I did my elective next. I went for TCP/IP (which murders the MS version of the same test). I guess doing the elective early make sense as it is your speciality and you should be ready for it at any time. Do yourself a favour with the elective - don't do TCP/IP (if I want to know how to manipulate an OSPF router database - I'll pay someone else to do it!)
NDS is pretty cruisey (lots of SR's and Time Sync)
Adv Admin could be hard because of the broad subject matter. Maybe do it toward the end.
It would be interested to hear from others who have finished CNE or getting close to it. Maybe there is a secret formula!!
BTW, on the Novell ed site that do recommend the pre-requisite for each exam.

| Cybatek,
Ain't no secret formula. Took me 12 weeks to get CNE. Used Exam Essentials and study guides from Cramsession.com. Also visited every site that offered free exams.

| Reo,
Don,
Dude,
Your preaching to the converted, I know there's no secret formula to it all. I sit S&S in two days and I'm finished.
I was just trying to give hope to the hopeless (I don't mean you Bernie )
I bet you tell your friends how the movie ends before they go to watch it too.

| Cybatek,
Had to take a cheap shot at the end.
Well, You almost made it out of the post as an adult.

| Ah, Touché Don
But do you remember reading that story about a group of 14 year olds getting their CNE's?? That's no urban legend.
Being an 'adult' doesn't have jack to do with computers. Let whats left of your hair hang out baby
But back to the thread.. What's all this talk about CNE 5.1 anyhow? I didn't think Novell gave any differentiation in the world of NW5 and 5.1 as far as certs go. If I did 5.1 admin but 5 advanced admin, am I a 5 CNE or 5.1 CNE.
I know it's all semantics, but ....

OK.
Here's what I did. I sat for 5.1 Admin and 5.1 Adv admin and then the rest were 5.0 adaptive tests and I got a CNE Netware 5 certificate. There's no difference. |
