| Hey all,
I just REstarted studying for NetTech. Test #5 of 6 for me (need Zen2 elective).
Question is this: I sat the NAEC 565 course and have 2 white books - book1 on OSI and book2 that per my recollection is what I will be tested on. Oh, now to the question: Can I tear up book2 really hard and pass the test?
Book1 is awesome but I need to get my CNE and thus will hit book1 OSI as reference later on.
I have STSWare that covers both books, but I am pressed for time and really want to just do book2...
Ideas?
Thanks Peers.

| you could just go for the N+, that will give you credit for the net tech and an extra certification | |

| Ya, why don't you just go for Net+ - i can email you the waiver form from Novell - just pass the Net+ and fill out the form and your 5/6 of the way there | |

| I'd go for Network+ too. Back when I took it (it's been almost two years now) I used the Sybex and ... For Dummies books. They were both great. I used the Sybex book as my primary source and read through the ... For Dummies book the day before taking the exam. I hear they've made the exam more difficult since then but back when I took it was very basic. There was a lot of emphasis on the OSI model and general networking knowlege (almost nothing vendor specific). | |

| Thanks for the replies but no I wont do Net+.
To restate my question - Do I need book1 from 565? Is the test based solely on book2 or is there bleed over from book1?
I have all the materials for 632 so it would merely be an additional time and cost to switch to Net+.
I am going to give NovellEDU a call, and they will tell me, I just want someones opinion who has sat the course and/or did the white books and the test.
Thanks,

Please man, I said flat out in my post that I had the Self Test Software and the student manual(s) as well as taken the class. I know I will do OK. I asked a simple question from which based on my obvious experience I would expect an answer at least somewhat based on my question.
Cut me some slack with the useless responses. Has this board nothing to contribute? I dont totally mean to get all bowed up, but I really want an answer based on my question. I dont post here just to see what my typing looks like. |
