Author What is a good book for CNA ?

2000-06-21, 9:40 pm

I have just finished with my Network +. We have Novell servers (ver 5) at the school system that I work for. I guess if I want to get into our IT department a CNA would be my next step.

Which book seem to cover the material in a teaching matter not a just how to pass the test kind of way?

Thanks

Gasniper, go to lcis.booksonline.com/lcis and sign up and join. I ordered the Networking Professional Toolkit which included, Novell guide to NetWare 5 Networks, Study Guide for CNA NetWare 5 and Novell's Guide to Troubleshooting NDS. I got a 3 user Version of Novell 5, A complete Test Engine for Novell 5, its the Clarke Test and interactive learning environment well worth the $9.99 fee for the Books and CD Roms and with shipping and handling came to only 23.95 total price. A whopping deal! The only thing you have to do is order another book during the year at the members price. I also will get the name of the other book I replied to you about in the Network+ forum. It is a book about 150 to 200 pages and is called the accelerated Study Guide for CNA 5.0 and covers what you need to know on the test and only that stuff. We have Novell 4.1 servers at my place of employment and me and another techie are the System administrators. So I get a lot of hands on experience with Novell. Scripts, Disk space, updates and Antivirus updates on the servers.

birdlinskiMan that was painless. Thanks a lot !!!! I just ordered my copy.

I just got home from the bookstore and was looking at that same package deal. First I spotted the book on CNA for around $78.00 + then spotted the package deal for around $178.00.

I drove home convincing myself that I was going to return and get it. My wife says I’m slightly tight with my money so I really had to talk myself in to it. Then I read your MONEY saving Email

I think I saw the other smaller book you made mention of.

Thank You Sir !!!!! Very Much

No Problem! Happy to help out and keep your wife happy on the money front at the same time. It takes about 2 to 3 weeks to get your introductory order but I assure you for $23.00 you cant go wrong. If you dont have 2 computers you better start going to garage sales to pick you up a computer to be used for a Client or for a Server. Sure helps to have the actual operating system with the introductory Z.E.N. works also to be used in a hands on environment. Should be able to pass with no problem. I figure I will cram for a month then go down and take the exam. The Accelerated book is : Accelerated Study Guide to Novell 5.0 by Kathy Cady. She is an actual insider with Novell so we should fair pretty well with her book. I got mine on sale at Borders Book Store for 4.99. Not bad uh?

Behind that website... What other books do you recommended. I hate to deal with that bookstore policy.

THANK YOU
