| please don't blast me if anything of this nature has been discussed, i tried to search but it appears all busted up.
I have a Cisco 2811 Router, it's stock, no additional cards, yet. It shipped with the IP-Base IOS. I want to put 12.4.3(LD) ENTERPRISE SERVICES on it. Will that alone get me FW and VPN abilities? Or do I have to add a card for either/both of these?

| wow, is this place a ghost town or what? | |

| I'd describe it as more of a confused town after reading your question. This is a CCNA certification help forum which your question doesn't relate to at all. It would be nice if someone here just happened to know the answer, but I can't see anyone with self-studied CCNA knowledge being able to answer that question. | |

| good point, I should have put that in another forum... back in the day all of these forums seemed to have enough activity and cross-over that I would have seen something from someone... anyhow, I got it figured out via the Cisco forums.
gotta have a IOS with a K in the version.

| Ahh, now that's actually ringing some memory bells from CCNA material. (Sorry if I came across in a bad way). The CCNA Sybex and Cisco Press books briefly mention that the various letters in the IOS ver # represent it's capabilities, but they don't go into detail on each one.
I wouldn't have had a clue that this would be the answer for adding VPN ability since the CCNA doesn't dealve into VPN info at all. Thanks for coming back to post the answer!
