| this is using routersim netvis 4.1...
My problem is that after I add a vlan to the server, the clients do not get the same thing.. I can ping from end to end, so the trunk links should be ok. help?

| Alright so I figured out my VTP problem, took me 30secs this time, funny...
Anyway seems like I had things wrong all over the plave. First I had two servers, and I only wanted one. then I didnt have trunk links configured, then in the end it looked like the one server I did leave had no domain configured. man... sily thing, and I know the server I turned into a client ad everything correct.. all well I'm glad I figured it out, I feel like I can actually handle cisco issues, tha are on my low level...

| Hey zxmjkxz, we've all been there. Some silly little thing that we spend hours and hours trying to figure out. The only nice thing about those types of problems is you tend to never forget the solution or correct way to set it up in the future! | |

| Thanks guys, =]
another thing that could have happened is that sometimes I force exit on the routersim and maybe I thought I configured
the same vtp on the server, and maybe I did not... I sure wont forget this... hehe

| its not reading that I need. What I need is experience... I just got my cert in mid july, and now I'm trying to get some experience through simulations, I figured its better than nothing... | |

| Don't take me wrong I do appreciate you input, but I wont know where I fall short unless I try it out there... | |

| Are you enjoying Routersim (version 4 or something like that possibly)? I used Boson's Netsim to study and found that to be very helpful. It does have it's quircks, but I still keep it installed to practice just like yourself. | |

| yep, I'm using RS netvisualizer 4.1 and it is pretty good. it has its short comings, but there is still plenty for me to learn from it, especially wan configurations...
My school had version 3.0 and thats how I got into it... |
