| Well first of don't go after a just because it's, go for it to attain the knowledge and credentials to do what you like. That being said, with you having the Sec+ you only have 3 more exams to become an MCSA(in your case the 70-270, 290, and 291). But i would definitely recommend taking the CCNA, on your to the MCSA at some point.
Good Luck and Feel Free to PM for any study materials.

| Thanks for the info I understand to study it to know it. I love troubleshooting that is why I am going for my A+. I took the Security+ b/c I know security is a huge deal. I went to this site http://www.microsoft.com/learning/m...equirements.asp and I can't understand how the Security+ is going to help me become MCSA. Can you take a look at this page and help me understand. I shows electives or alternatives that can help me attain the MCSA but I understand I have the Sec+ but I am having trouble understanding what other exams I can take to help me. Can you please try to decipher it for me. Also the 70-270, 290, and 291 exams what exactly are they like what does the numbers correspond to Thanks for all of your help. | |

| No Problem.
I'll use the MCSA track on Windows 2k3 server as an example:
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcsa/windows2003/
Now to attain the cert you must pass 4 exams. Namely one on a client-class O.S such as Windows XP(that is exam 70-270), or if you prefer 70-210(that is Windows 2K). It's you choice on which exam to take here.
On to the server-class exams, that is on Windows 2K3 Server, there are 2 REQUIRED exams:
Exam 70-290 which basically introduces to what server 2K3 is all about, sort of like 101 on Server 2K3.
This link is provides the info: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/exams/70-290.asp
AND
Exam 70-291 the second exam on 2K3 server, here's a link as to what you have to be able to:
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/exams/70-291.asp
Once you pass your choice of the client exam either on Windows 2000 or XP, as well as the the required exams, bringing the total to 3 at this point. Microsoft also need you to pass 1 elective exam, But in your case you don't have to take any of them because the Security+ certification can be subsitited for the electives.
But to apply you CompTIA certification towards attaining the MCSA you must follows the instructions on this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/partners.asp
Hope I've made a bit more clearer to you.
Good Luck and Be Well
