CCNA - set up not pinging

I've connected a 2611 router to a 2900 switch and I cant ping either one fro either side. The cisco discovery does see it, but I can't ping. Nay ideas??

I've tried configuring them for a trunk, with auto or fixed speed, duplex...

I have also tried erasing the router config and starting frech with that. the switch has an IP configured as well as the vlan on that switch...????

nevermind I think I got it. For some reason when I switched to trunk mode it would stop being able to ping, and then it wouldnt go back to its oeigi... Thank you anyway
