Author Question About Full Duplex Ethernet LAN.

I was sitting here thinking and although I understand what full and half duplex are there is one aspect of full duplex that I dont understand.

If an Ethernet LAN has let's say, 20 hosts all operating in full duplex mode, does this mean that theoretically all 20 hosts could be transmitting and recieving at the same time?

OR

Does a full duplex Ethernet LAN mean that only one host can transmit at any given time but that host has the ablility to transmit and recieve at the same time?

Thanks,
Pez

Remember the full duplex is between each of the 20 hosts and the directly connected switch. They can operate at full duplex because there is no contention on each of those "wires".
