| Is there a way I can push the same time to all my switches, for instance, from a VTP server? | |

| Depending on the switch model and software version, you can configure the switches to obtain time information from an NTP server such as a router or a computer. I'm not sure if some of the newer switches can function as NTP servers or not. | |

| I had a similar question but this time including 2 routers
2501 IOS 11.3 (CDPv1)
2501 IOS 12.0 (CDPv1)
Switch Catalyst 1900 (CDPv2)
I need to sync time between all devices.
Where can I get started?

| Enable NTP server on a router; all other devices should synchronize to that. | |

This will show you how to configure NTP on a router. Perform a search on the web for a public stratum 1 NTP source. Configure your switches and other devices to use your router as the NTP server.
Note: Each time you daisy-chain off of a single NTP source, you lose one stratum level.

| Hi all, my first post... I am almost ready to take the CCNA exam in 1 1/2 week.
By the way, I've been practicing with a SOHO 91 router. Some platforms like the SOHO series routers do not support NTP. They do support a scaled-down version of it called SNTP. It basically does the same but you can't configure certain features like authentication and it can't provide the time to clients (it's a client-only). |
