| Hi,
Something really silly that is driving me round the twist. If I can't get this resolved tonight, i'll beat up my cat.
I am using simulator
2 routers
serial connection connect them
I do the following on 1 side
1 - ip address 172.16.10.1 255.255.255.0
2 - no shut
And this on the other side
1 - ip address 172.16.10.2 255.255.255.0
2 - no shut
In fact it don't matter what address or mask i use i can't bloody ping other router.
I thought that all that was required was ip subnet no shut?
I am really confused and can't go out tonight until this is resolved.
I have been on this for 4 hours now!!!!
Please help!!!!!!!
Thank you
PS: It works fine on ethernet connections

Might as well beat him up. It looks like you're already getting him drunk.

If you are simulating a serial-to-serial connection, then you will need to input a clock rate on the serial interface of the router that is simulating the DCE side of your connection.
