I have a C1751 running IOS release 12.1(7)

My problem is that my two cards (WIC-1T & ISDN BRI S/T) are not showing up when i do Sh Diag. Both cards are in slots 0 and 1.

I noticed that sometimes the green LED's don't flash for these slots when i power on the router, slot 2 always flashes. Unfortunately i don't have any spare cards i can try and slot 2 only accepts voice cards.

Sometimes the slots flash on power up sometimes not, with or without the cards installed. Faulty ports? Faulty router?

I've taken the router apart an reseated the twin slot cradle. No luck.

Any ideas?

The ports may well be faulty.

Try this:

and without the w w w

Paste this link into your browser:

cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps221/ products_installation_guide_ch
apter09186a0080091696.html#32051

And add the www. at the beginning.

It seems as if the links are broken.... I know I can just dig it up at Cisco myself, but I'm not experienced w/ Cisco, so it would take a long time...

If you could repost the links, Lex, that would be great.

Thanks.

Again, I'm not experienced in routers. Haven't studied them beyond "this box is a router, which routes data". Don't know 1/128th of this terminology. Have no clue what sh Diag, WIC cards & ports means, & that's why I'm here trying to learn. I'm not ready to troubleshoot (which was your link).

Since Lex posted the link, I thought I might as well check it out.

Oh well. Was worth a try to learn.

The original post was a troubleshooting question. That's why I posted a troubleshooting link.

No problem. It was the context of Lex's reply I was seeking via the links.
