| A few years back, another member asked this question and the replies were varied and interesting; so here is the same question again:
If you are studying for a multiple exam certification or just a single one, once you pass do you revise the weak areas that you did not do as well as expected or do you move on to the next?
It will be interesting to see the replies a few years on.

| It would depend on the knowledge needed for the follow on exams. By this I mean, if I pass the ccna with a poor showing in isdn I would follow up by polishing my knowledge in preparation for the BCRAN test. On the other hand, if I pass with little knowledge in something that I do not need for future exams AND I dont think it is important then I will count my blessings that I will not need to ever learn that again (or at least until I need to recertify). I dont have time to know it all, I want to know the important stuff and if I have more room in my head, I want to learn the stuff that is important to me. | |

| One reply from someone who studies is worth more than a thousand from those who cheat.
Look at it this way, you can go back a learn the correct answers to the questions you memorised.
That will help you further your career.

I believe that Lexy, as the forum moderator, can rant about cheating as much as he wants. For that matter, so can anyone else. If you've got a problem with it, go elsewhere.
Sounds like you've got a guilty conscience.

| I currently hold no certifications so no i do not have a guilty conscience unless you want to count that biology test I cheated on 8 years ago
let me ask you a few questions here if you dont mind.
Have you ever cracked any software such as windows or any other software out there? Did you go out and buy your version of windows?
Have you ever Used Napster, Kazaa, Bit Torrent, or any other peer to peer file sharing software?
Have you ever copied a music CD, DVD, or break any other copyright law?
The reason for these questions is that Lexy called me a pirate in a different thread because I posted a certain software that he didn't like me posting. But you can't honestly tell me that you have never gotten any software from a friend without paying for it.

| Regardless of your standpoint, there is a zero tolerance towards brain dumps in this forum.
Can you kindly show a little more respect to others in your posts as well please.

| I dont believe in braindump$ for one reason: they ruin what I have been working for. I dont need to prove my skills to my company and I am not looking for a job. The only reason I am getting certification to prove to clients that an outside source has evaluated my skill level and certified my knowledge as such a level. Past performace will get you only so far, sometimes you need to have the piece of paper, whether it’s a college degree or vender cert. Braindump$ bring that level down.
Although the economy plays a large part in the salary of a technician I believe braindump$ to be a contributor to the fact that a ccna qualified person on average makes less this year then last year, continuing the trend for 3 years now. With that said, I am not happy with people cheating me out of money. For that matter, neither should that anyone.
On the flip side, someone could say, well, if you know about the braindump$ and did not use them, then its your own fault. You could be much further along in your certification path if you used the braindump$. To all those that believe that this is my fault, you are partly correct. Sometimes you got to do what you got to do in business. However, for me this is not one of those times. I want to actually know the stuff, talk intelligently, not post stupid questions or solicit help a 5 year old with access to cisco.com could answer. Maybe its just me, but I think I have found a forum that shares my opinion.
I am also not putting myself on a higher plateau then others because I am willing to put the time into fully learning the stuff. I am eager and willing to help others in the same pursuit and business as I am, which is evident is some of my previous posts. One thing I will not do is answer the questions of a certified individual if the question asked is covered in the test material that he passed. My prerogative.

Sure thing, and maybe I was out of line in that first post and I apologize. However, what I'm trying to say is this forum is more of an anti-braindump forum rather than a CCNA help forum. I understand that you do not tolerate the use of braindumps and I would agree with that, but all I ask is that you refrain from posting something like this:

We all know how you feel about braindumps so you can put it to rest. And Forbesl i know he's mod and all and he can post whatever he wants, and by you saying that just shows your level of intelligence. As for Lexy, I see what your trying to do and seems like your a good guy and all but kinda seems like you're fighting a lost cause.

Looking at the statement above, I wouldn't be bringing up the topic of "level of intelligence" if I were you. It's obvious you're not in a position to even begin questioning mine.

| No I don't think i stepped out of line there since I based that solely on your response to my post, in which you called me an idiot. | |

Actually, I was responding to Lexy's post, not yours. I did not single you out individually and personally call you an idiot, did I?
Does the shoe fit? If not, then my response to Lexy does not apply to you. If it does fit, then rethink your actions.
