| Does anyone have experience with the Fluke 620 Cable meter? I was testing cable from our cisco access point to our switch because we were getting no link lights but the cable appears OK. I'm new to the Fluke 620 so I'm still learning it. I removed the cable from out Cisco AP (access point) and connected it to the Fluke's 620 "UTP/FTP" port while the other end I put the 620 "1" (don't know the name of it) tool into our punch down block that the cable connected to. The tool that has the RJ45 connector and is labled 620 with a big "1" on it is long and square like. When testing the cable the Fluke said it was OK and had no problems however it also said the length was only 22' when in fact this cable is easlier over 75 feet long. Any ideas? | |

| Go to http://www.flukenetworks.com and download the manual for the cable tester.
..!!!
By the way, the "tool that has the RJ45 connector and is labled 620 with a big "1" on it is long and square like" is called a cable identifier. How do I know this? I read the manual.... | |

| The fastes way to test the AP is to use a known good cable and see if you have a problem with the AP port or the switch. If that works then your AP and switch is fine and you can try to toubleshoot the cable using the cable tester. |
