| I assume you can call the third layer of the DOD model either the Internet layer or the Internetwork layer? The Sybex book calls it the Internet layer and the CISCO Complete Reference book I have calls it the Internetwork layer. | |

| Remember the OSI model?? This layer was called Network; so I guess they must've put the two names together, thus 'internetwork'.
Anyways, it's the same thing. No matter what you call it, that's the 3rd Layer and the two official names are Network (OSI) and Internet (DoD).

| Yup. That was annoying 'cus I learned the TCP/IP model through an old Windows 2000 reference paper. None of this "Host to host" layer crap. |
