Does anyone know if there is still questions in the new 640-801 exam on IPX? I know that it was part of the sylibus for the 640-607 but can't see it mentioned in the new exam description on the cisco website

no questions on IPX at all.

I failed the examn twice and both times there wasn't a single question regarding IPX.

The only thing with regards to IPX and SPX that you might want to know for the exam would be which layer of the OSI model they reside at and whether they are connectionless or connection-oriented. Though you probably won't see them on the exam since they aren't part of the current objectives, you may see them in real life.
