If you studied like you should have then you wouldn't have failed the exam twice already and you wouldn't be asking about a file that will help you pass an exam that you don't have enough knowledge to pass.

I took the 640-801 version of the CCNA exam (same as you did) and passed the first time with a score of 920/1000. And guess what... I actually read multiple books, worked on my home lab, and used training and testing software. Any other questions, insults, or name calling?

Three members in this thread are knowledgeable and helpful so why antagonise them all?

After you insulted smrkdown he still helped you for you to belittle him, what ever happened to gratitude?

These members are contributing to the forum; either respect them and avoid petty name calling or kindly refrain from posting in this forum.

This isn't a bad forum at all.

I'm not going to comment because it either gets twisted or people think that I have no right to an opinion because I moderate.

A member helped another after being belittled and he had the nerve to do the same thing again, they offered help and advice to have it thrown back in their face.

What other reaction would you expect if you did the same to someone else?

Sometimes people don't accept help from others too well that was given to them I guess its a ego thing. I appreciates all the help I can for that I'm very grateful for that.

As I am, you can always learn something, regardless of how much you think you know about a subject you can always learn more.

When are you people going to get it. The only thing the certs really measure is whether or not you can learn. In real life you look at books, follow directions, and search the internet to solve problems. If you are good you will succeed and have a good job. If you are bad you will take down a couple networks and break alot equipment and eventually you'll get fired. Use whatever you need to pass the exams. You really want to say you know your stuff, get a degree. Certs are the easier way to get a decent job without going to college.

I have a couple of points to add to this: Certs should test your knowledge and ability against time. I dont think that tests should make you memorize things, but they should test your knowledge about a subject not just how to answer 60 questions. This is very difficult to judge. Yes, in the real world you will have a book and the internet to help you but you should be able to do the basic things without any help. Its kind of like counting to 10 or adding 5+3. A calculator can do those, but in order to save time you need to be able to know the answer without a reference manual. I think that cisco should provide its website to those taking the test. Not only will this give people a good reason to learn to navigate the site and find what they are looking for, it would make it more real world.

If you don’t know an answer that the website can provide for you, power to you if you can find it and answer the question correctly. Again, its more about time then knowing the correct syntax for coping a file to a router. To prevent just anyone off the street from taking the test, the time limit should be very strict the test taker should not have enough time to look up everything. Just the couple questions he is not sure of, like in the real world.

My second point is I think cisco should provide a router simulator for all those that wish to study. I find it very hard to swallow that third party companies are making money of selling an IOS simulator and cisco does not provide one. Can someone explain to me why its not in cisco’s best interest in having lots of people trained on there software? Why not help people learn cisco, i.e . then companies would by cisco, and use cisco since that is what their employees know…

My third point is that people who memorize the answers from particular websites cause damage to the reputation of the ccna. I have worked with some of those ccna's and seen the crap that comes from out of there mouths in meetings. I also watched them fumble the easiest of troubleshooting problems.

A company that sees that a person has been certified a ccna should be able to assume he has the necessary knowledge to perform the functions that a ccna test requires to be studied. The ccna actually stands for something. I am not sure if you who download the test answers and memorize te$tking, or actualanswers or what ever else there is understand that by having a ccna you should be able to go to a client and set up a network with minimal help. You should be able to be put into a NOC position and with little training be able to fullfil the basic functions there.

The motivation for the ccna can be different by person, higher salary, better job position, requirement for a job, or just personal knowledge. The fact remains that if people who do not have the knowledge to pass the exam but are able to receive a passing score because they got the answers will dilute the meaning of the ccna for the rest of us.

This happened with the old mcse. It got so bad it really did not matter to put it on the resume, because all it stood for was a 600 dollar waste of time and 3 hours surfing for braindumps. They called it a paper mcse and that is what these test answer providers are doing to cisco. What is worse is that lots of people actually support them, enough to allow multiple vendors to thrive and every one who does download the answers and pass because of their help contribute to the demise of the ccna, i.e. the thing they just paid $50 bucks for the answers and another $125 for the test means much less now that they got it then before they had it.

If this trend continues, the tests will become harder and harder for those of us who honestly study. Once the tests have become so hard they can’t get harder, then, the certification will in the eyes of knowledgeable employers more and more worthless.

I have read somewhere where people complain about the braindumps ruining it for the rest of us, which I don’t think it completely true. Its ruining it for all of us, because the cert you cheated for to get, means less now that you got it.

Just my $0.02

Agreed. There are a lot of dumpers and paper certs out there who wouldn't even know how to console into a router, which cable to use, what terminal software to use, or even where to plug in the connection....the "basic" of "basics".

Everyone always says its the dumpers that are bad BUT I have seen many.... what I call smart dummies. The supposedly know everything and they got a degree and a million certs. They can;t even replace a hot swap HDD. We could go on for days about this issue and go round and round. The fact of the matter is, if you suck you'll get weeded out eventually. If your good no one will care how you got there as long as you get the job. Peace out last post me

People always seem to misunderstand this freedom of speech thing.

Freedom of speech has relation to government and that government can't refrain you (within reason) from voicing your opinion and you can't be arrested, etc, for voicing your opinion, again within reason, unless it causes harm to others, etc.

Freedom of speech does not have meaning otherwise, such as in private quarters, forums, etc. In some cases, you may be free to say what you want, but you also have to be prepared to suffer the consequences of what you say. In other cases you may be censored. Consider if you call your boss a dirty insulting name. Your boss has every right to reprimand you; you can't cry freedom of speech and escape punishment. Read the TOS of various forums and the like and see the types of speech they do not allow. They are within their right to impose such limitations, freedom of speech does not apply to them, nor does it apply to this forum.

We all have the right to our opinion and freedom of speech but you do not exercise yours in a mature fashion.

You always have to have to decry others and take cheap shots.

If you persist in this manner then don't be surprised when your posts are edited and threads closed.

How many times to you have to be told to respect others?

I've said it before and I'll say it again,,,,It only takes me 5-10 minutes of talking with anyone who has taken any of the exams I have (and many others) to ascertain if they really learned it,,,,or dumped their way through.
The people in many of the positions are real McCoys, 50/50 and growing. Once you've been into it enough the prentenders are just so easy to spot. This wasn't as so 5 years ago as it is today.
Those who got burned on the studies by the brain dump brigades aren't soon to forget the affects.
Time is one of the few things of real worth we have. If you aren't willing to expend enough of it to learn, then parhaps you should find an area that you are willing to apply yourself in.

I was looking for some practice questions, and came across such a (sup?) repository of information.

The funny thing is that it was obvious a lot of the answers were wrong
