When I was taking the CCNA I found the troubleshooting simulator hard. I was supposed to troubleshoot the connectivity over a 4 router network. While doing "show run" I couldn't seem to see anything wrong. Can anyone give me any ideas of what to look for while troubleshooting connectivity on the CCNA? I really need to know exactly what to look for when troubleshooting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Also, the diagram was pretty weird. I had to click on a computer on the diagram to access the router IOS. I'm pretty new to routing, and I was wondering which computer represented which router? Don't laugh

I just got confused on the simulators. They were much different than the sim I bought. They didn't provide step by step questions. They just gave me a scenario and walked away, so to speak. Anything will help. Thanks again!! Eric

Give this a try to familiarise yourself with the test engine:

The computer is connected to the router (Via console cable) the dotted lines represent the router that is connected to the workstation. So clicking on the computer activates the session to control the router.

You aren't supposed to know exactly what to look for when troubleshooting. That's the whole point. The question and scenario should provide you with enough clues to point you in the right direction. If you know how something should work then it isn't too difficult to find out why it isn't. Good luck.
