Yes... this thread's got your name in the subject because I think we need answers from you two.

I'm really against this crusade you guys are undertaking against the moderator of this forum, but I'd like to get the answer to a simple question from both of you?

The question's about whether any of you ever moderated a technical forum or not. I'm asking this because one can't feel what it means to moderate unless he's done it before.

Please don't take this as an offense, because if you've never moderated a technical forum, you'd better just back off.

Let's go on from there. I think it's better we convince two members to back off rather than having a forum moderator resign (which is really out of the question for now, I guess ).

unlike most ppl, when I first joined this forum, I looked through pretty much all relevant posts going a few years back just to see if I would fit in.

during the process, I learned that Yankee was the old mod of this forum and did a wonderful job.

during the process I learned what a helpful member dmaftei is.

during that process I also felt I got to "know" quite a few member who are no longer with us and how this forum would benefit technically for their presence, tho I don't think they have much tolerance for the incompetence displayed by most new members here.

The quality of these so call "tech" is disgusting and it is not the technical know how, but the other factor such as drive and an inquisit mind... the humility to know when something is beyond them but the ego to not give up in their learning and their own pursuit of knoledge... to think most information is only a google away and yet so many will not undertake that extra effort.

anyway, I am an avocate of not leaving a "you suck" post. so I will just leave with this

endl;
terminate()

bye

*but heh... I think the last paragraph is pretty much a you suck post heh ? ...

I know how helpful dmaftei is --for one, and I'm sure yankee's been doing a wonderful job while he was around; but again, that doesn't mean the current moderator's fcuked up.

I fail to understand the relation between the helpfulness of these two members and the fact that they want Lexy out.

Guys: to be frank, I look at only one thing when it comes to moderators: is he/she anti-braindumps or not?

Fcuk the rest man. This guys doing pro bono work. He's keepin those dirty dumpers out of our life while you sit there and just rant.

Nope, not me.

What I think is that this forum is much better off with Yankee around than with Lexy moderator.

That's because there is no relationship between the two. I'd like to see Lexy gone not because I feel helpful, but because I think he's abusive. I've explained this before...

I think you're wrong (no offense...) I think it takes much more than an anti-braindumps attitude to be a moderator.

We're all doing pro bono work, 2lbs. You don't think I was paid by somebody to post more than 1500 answers to questions, do you? (The rest was wasted in flaming wars )

That being said let me assure you that I am not actively campaining to unseat Lexy. I did that until a couple of weeks ago, I complained to the webmaster, I got no answer, that was it. Would I like to see Lexy go? Yeah, I would. I opened that poll with the hope that a majority of users would say Lexy should go. If that majority will happen I hope Lexy will have the decency to go. But it doesn't seem to go in that direction... Too bad...

Flame wars started and perpetuated by you.

Make your mind up; earlier you didn't have a problem.

See the thread entitled enough is enough as this one is closed.
