Hi

I've set up a simple network using 2*2503 routers and 2*PC's using Windows 98.

The network works fine (thanks for the help)and I can ping PC to PC no problem. Unfortunately I can't see the PC's in Network Neighbourhood and it will only ping using IP addresses not computer names.
IS this correct ??

Yes, netbios is a non-routable protocol. Name resolution is broadcast based. I'm sure you could make it work somehow.

You need a DNS server if you want to ping yourpcsname. Or put your host names in host (or whatever their name is) files on your pc.

Actually I was thinking some sort of name resolution, and DNS came to mind before WINS.
