| got confused about the different data rate and coverage areas of the wireless techs, like narrowband, broadband (pcs), infrared and spread spectrum, satellite etc. There is a chart from Lammle's book, but obviously it's wrong. Some explanations from other books, but not thorough enough.
Anyone can give a comparable description and data rate/coverage area table???
Thank you very much!! | |

| Not to put you off, but there are literally entire books written on the subject. And there are a thousand things that affect all of it. For example, coverage area is affected by the power of the transmitter, the type and location of the antennas, interference from other wireless devices (cordless phones, for example), and objects and obstacles between the anteena and the client, just to name a few. Syngress press has a decent wireless book, which I am reading, called "Building a Cisco Wireless LAN." You might check it out, or a similar book. | |

| yeah, I realize that the question maybe too generic, but it seems CCNA only needs basic facts on wireless. However, so far I haven't found any CCNA material that give a brief but efficient explanation
Thanks anyway!! |
