Frame Relay DLCI??

| what's it for?
it's to define the local circuit between local router and FR switch it connects.
Or it's to define the circuit of the other side of the connection,
EG
R1--FR Switch1--FR Switch2--R2
R1's dlci define the vitual connection between FR Switch2 and R2 or between R1 and FR Switch1??? why???
According to the difinition, R1's DLCI is used to dine R1 and FR switch1, but thinking of the process of FR connection building up, it makes sense to say it's for finding the vc between FR Switch2 and R2...confused.

| A DLCI is between the router and the frame switch and is said to be locally significant only because the number has no meaning thru the rest of the provider's frame cloud. There is another DLCI between the destination's router and frame switch. Neither router cares about the DLCI the other is using.
The PVC on the other hand, is built by the carrier from end to end.
