Hey guys,

it's been a million years but i think i'm going to refresh my CCNA before it expires this summer.

i think i'll get the Cisco Press kit by Odom and the Sybex Lammle (4e) book. i briefly browsed some of the threads and Cisco's site and it appears that this 3.0 version of the test is a bit different. i'm not doing much with routers these days but some switch stuff still. the actual work (the way i do it) isn't so rusty but i know the router and 'cisco-way' of doing things will be.

if you were able to compare/contrast 640-507 (i think that's what i took) and this new test, where would you say the major differences are?

thanks guys. should be seeing you all here off and on for a bit.

Why not take a few test towards the CCNP route, "no punn intended', and brush up on any CCNA areas. Your CCNA would then be updated, yes?

believe me Silky, i would rather do that. thing is, right now i'm in the middle of finishing my bachelor's degree, the work i'm doing right now doesn't really require it, and i have some other certifications that are more relevant to my work that i intend to work on as well. so, don't have the time right now i guess.

You'll still need to learn new stuff to recertify - IPV6, Voice, and SAFE. Also expect to deal with simulations.
