Author Substitute 2950 Switch w/ 1900 Switch?

Would I really need to get the 2950 switch? They are so expensive, about $500 a piece.

My other option is Sims but I really want to experience a hands-on lab (ex: cabling, etc). Can I substitute 2950 Switch w/ 1900 Switch?

The 2500 router aren't so bad.

Thanks

You could try looking at the 2924 switch as this is an IOS based switch and is more similar to the 2950.

However be aware that there WILL be command syntax differences between the 1900/2924 switches and the 2950.

*sigh* I knew I should have taken the CCNA Exam when it was still 640-507. It's getting more and more expensive.

I think I'd go with the Sims. I'm broke.

Does anyone know if I can install the Sims by RouterSim in a Server 2000 box? The description just says Win 2000.
