Greetings,

In working in some practice labs, I was wondering that in the CCNA test it is graded negative if you do not do a show run or other show commands when you are complete with a configuration?

Does the test engine knock off points if I am using the question mark (creating ACL's for example)?

I'm taking my test on Monday, Jan. 12

THANKS!

Practice your ACL-Syntax to make it without the questionmark. Maybe not all the help features are given in the simulations.
Yes, there are a few things you have to follow:
- copy running-config startup-config after you are ready with your commands
- test the connectivity with ping / telnet
- and look after your running-config
- do some show commands like show ip route
- do not type in network 192.168.1.1 instead of 192.168.1.0 with a classfull routing protocol (192.168.1.1 does already work with real routers, but not for the exam)
I don't know exactly if this is required in the simulations, but i've read it in a few books. I have done this in my test (Friday 10th) and it works fine. After the test you are not able to see what was wrong. You only get your percentage and that's all.
I've read that cisco will see some real experience and in real life you look after your show commands, test connectivity and save your configuration. I've just simply done it in the test.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply Axel_D. This is really going to help. By the way, did you have to do any NAT translation configs or questions?

Wish me luck!

I was quite nervous, so i didn't remember the detail.
But on my test there was no nat question, but one lab with Ext ACLs.

I wish you the best for your exam.
