| I've read a couple different resources regarding VTP configuration parameters on a Catalyst 2950 switch. In one book, it says to configure parameters such as VTP mode, Domain Name and Version number in global config mode...which is then saved in both the VLAN database and the startup-config file(assuming transparent mode is being used). The other resource says to configure these parameters directly in the VLAN database mode. I've visited Cisco's Web site, and they state these parameters are configurable in either mode. I'm still not sure which is preferable. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Here's the Cisco link regarding VTP configuration:

Thanks in advance. | |

| Below is a link to the Cisco documentation for the 2950. It has a section that covers VLANs and another that covers VTP that should shed some light on the matter.

| Thanks. This is the URL I originally posted, however it was truncated due to limited space. I'll re-read again. Thanks. |
