| Ok, I understand subnetting but I had a massive brain fart, what does the number after the "/" mean?
Ex.
192.168.100.1/24

PS, going for retake Monday the 22nd, the prometric center is booked till October, fret the 640-801! No other testing center for 110 Miles!!!!!!!!!!! | |

| /24 means that 24 bits are used as network and subnet bits, which gives you a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Since this is a C class network, /24 is the default C class subnet mask.  | |

| "/24" -a Classless InterDomain(CIDR) Notation
It indicates the number of routing bits (network and subnet bits)in each subnet mask
-CIDR-compliant network address is advertised with a specific bit mask.
-This mask is identifies the length of the network prefix
-eg: 192.168.100.1/24 identifies a CIDR address with a 24 bit Network address
