| Hi all, Just wrote ccna for the first time and got a 9XX. I am stoked to say the least. I just want to give my two cents for those intending to write this exam. It is passable! I can't understand why people are failing this exam. It had me sickly worried to expect the worst and the exam is not hard at all. I finished this course a couple of months ago and played the fool and then started seriously studying for the past two months. I should've written this months ago.
Material Used:
Sybex Third Edition-Todd Lamle
Did a CCNA class from Nov 2002-February 2003
Got to fiddle with a 2600 and 2500 router briefly
Used the CCNA Virtual Lab,then my hard drive crashed!
Downloaded sample tests from:Transcender(crap),TechSki
lls TestPrep(really good), Boson (okay), Self-Test Software(Good), Redmond exams(Good)
Just read the entire Sybex book and understand the concepts. Do the questions at the end of the chapter as well as the bonus exams on the cd.Those were excellent and invaluable.
The Exam:
60 questions, around 90 minutes (still had 20mins. to spare).
The sims were easy. Read the rest of the past posts to get valuable hints.Trust me, they WERE helpful. You have to to be comfortable with RIP and subnetting.
Please write up your subnetting tables before so you can refer to them.
Know RIP, IGRP, Subnetting, Show commands, Frame Relay ,Switching etc. IPX wasn't there because if you took a look at the new objectives, you'd realize they took it off. Bless you Cisco for that.
People,Cisco put a very straightforward exam if you learn your work. Much better than Microsoft's vague questions. There were some questions that downright got me stuck but hey, whatever. The internet also helped with loads of resources from this website. But personally for me-Sybex ruled. Subnetting was sweet. You have to understand this topic. Ask someone to explain it to you if you can't understand and then do a crapload of these questions to make sure you're comfortable. Its really easy if you put your mind to it. Don't go failing this exam. Its not worth it. I swear i was nervous in the beginning and faltered a bit but then the questions were straightforward.
YOU CAN DO IT!
Good luck to all and thankful to this forum as well as techexams.net forum | |
