Do I have to Take 640-801 To Retain My CCNA Status?
|

| Hi. I am planning on taking exam 640-607 before September 30th, as I have been studying the material for months now. My question is will I have to take 640-801, the new CCNA test, in order to retain my CCNA status? I am looking through this within MCSE context; for example, to remain an MCSE, people who are NT4 certified had to take an upgrade test for Windows 2000.
Is it the same way with CISCO?
Thank you | |

| A ccna is a ccna for years since cisco exam is not based on specific version of Os(like Microsoft) though they upgrade the IOS which
enhances new features
ccna exam are revised based on new networking modules included ..like in the 801 the new inclusions are
1> ospf & eigrp config
2> concept of vpn and nat
3> vlsm and cidr
according to this forum ccna607 is valid for 3yrs but it is always better to being updated
specially the employer may even look for current tracks
so if you are not in a hurry spend some more time to cover the extra topics for the new track and relaxed being ceritfied in crurrent track
