| I need help in configuring catalyst switch 3550 from scratch. I just need to give the switch an ip and default gateway and also ip add to 4 ports. I tried config the ports but kept on saying cant give ip add to L2. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG AND WHAT COMMANDS TO GET THIS RESOLVED. | |

| you need to go to vlan1 interface and assign the ip add and default gateway there. Once you do that You can config from web browser. It is pretty cool!! good luck. | |

| what do u mean configuring from web browser when i am configuring it from hyperterminal. how do i go by configuring it from web browser. | |

| make sure you have emi ios installed, this gives L3 functions, use the cisco web site. |
