Hi !!
I am one of those who are confused at the moment regarding CCNA....I have started preparation 15 days back for 640-607 , but I have heard that Cisco is expiring this exam on 30th September ...So what to do now ...Are there any major differnce between these....regarding the course contents...any additions ??... Would these new versions would be difficult business so I should rush for 640-607 or go for new tests.

Thanks
Nadeem

If u r almost well-prepared for the 607 test, I suggest u to go for that. But if u have not prepared for that, I think u'd better go for the new one, 640-801.

It's better to try new things. As for me, I am almost well-prepared for the 607 exam. That's why I have decided to sit for 607. I am going to register soon in this week and will sit for the exam in the next week....

i am also a bit confused with the new tests. If i wait past sept 30th will i need to take both the intro and icnd? I am trying to prepare myself for the end of august.

i am also using a book for the ccna2.0 640-507...is there a major difference between this one and 607?

No it is not a must. U may choose one. One for 801 and another for two step-exam. Two step-exam is for those who are new to networking and start from zero.

For the difference between 507 and 607, they have the same objectives. Just different in the exam type. In 607, fill in the blanks and sims are added. U can use 507 book for 607 exam.

U have to register for 607 before 30th September and sit for the exam within six weeks.

hi
I'm just having the same problem , am 90% ready for the 607 , I've decided to take the 607 rather than waiting the 801 , but I wanna ask about one last fear

Cisco says that the CCNP Prerequisite is a
VALID CCNA certification.

would the 607 be VALID as a prerequisite after 30-Sep ?

607 will be valid for three years. It means that you have to take the CCNP within three years after u get 607.....

Hope it's clear....
