| Hi everyone,
I am planning to sit for the exam next week.
I'm using Cisco's ICND book. In the appendix of the book there are topics including Appletalk & password recovery.
Do I need to know this for the exam?
Also I hate IPX. Is IPX still tested in CCNA exams?
I attended 5 day ICND training. We covered the book and did the lab exercises. Is this relevant for the exam?
Can anyone who just sat for the exam give some answers to my questions?
Thanks..... | |

| Hi Jay,
IPX is still on the exam but not deep. Just some kind of IPX Address format, SAP and RIP update times, GNS and some basic configurations.
You may see the "Chapter 11-Novell IPX" in Odom Wendell's book from Cisco Press. Don't be discourage with IPX. U just need to know some basics about it.
At first I am also afraid of IPX, but now I know all basics about it and I can do well in practice tests like boson, transcender and quizware...

| I took the ISDN class 3 1/2 years ago and it was great! I just recently recertified but at that point I had the necassary experience. The class is definatly worth taking especially if you can get your employer to fit the bill. | |

| Password recovery-know the general steps(you should know it anyway if you wanna be a REAL CCNA).
Appletalk - just the ACL range.
IPX - know the basics -key points from any study guide need to be memorized - but don't sweat it, not much of it on the exam. |
