| Hello everyone, I am new for this group and I wanna start my CCNA study. Can anyone suggest some book(s) and emulator for me to prepare for the exam?
Now I have the Wendell Odom's Cisco CCNA exam #640-607 Certification Guide in my hands. What books else I need to use in order to get a clear understanding for the material required in the exam? I have some basic networking knowleadge since I have studied in the university courses. What kind of emulator I can use for preparing the exam? | |

| That wendell odem book is great. Its the one that im using right now. Although it seems to go into too much detail about most topics. Its a great book nonetheless.. I would recomment that you read that book and then get the CCNA Exam notes by Todd Lammle to review for the exam. Its about 200 pages and highlihgts all the main components of the test that you shoud know.. About the Sims, i have tried alot of em includng the Sybex E-trainer, the routersim.com one, the cisco netacad one, and others.. On most of these you can do very very limited commands. Commands for Frame-Relay, PPP, ISDN are non-existant for these sims.
Get a 2500 from ebay if you have the money. Most of them go for under $200 these days.
Someone posted a link to this site here a while back , where you can do some online sims.

| Try to get a router or two, hands on cant be beat. Anyone can say they know how to find the volume of a shell, but not everyone can do it
btw, that is a good book |
