| which of the following technologies below is a function of a transport layer protocol?
sliding windows
smtp
dns
ftp
snmp
x windows
I think 'sliding windows' is the only answer but boson said the correct answer is sliding windows and dns.
what do you think? | |

| I have seen dns mostly as an app layer, I have also seen that it is also a session layer prot. I would email boson, see if they have an explantion for it, otherwise, I would view it as incorrect. | |

| Just because Boson said it, it's true. Granted, they are far better than other test-prep exam companies, but no one is perfect.
Pearl of Wisdom for the day:
Always remember this - If it doesn't sound right, challenge it. You will either validate your position, or learn something new - a no-lose situation.
To your question, "sliding windows" is also called TCP Windowing, which is a transport layer flow control function. The rest are all upper layer protocols/applications.
You're right, Boson's wrong.
